Description
Lamisil Once is a single-application treatment for athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) in adults aged 18 and over. Its active ingredient, terbinafine, kills the fungus that causes the infection. One application forms a colourless film that keeps releasing terbinafine for several days — so a single dose does the work, with no need to reapply.
Key benefits
- Single-dose treatment — one application, no reapplying
- Forms an invisible film that keeps working for days
- Active ingredient terbinafine, a clinically proven antifungal
- Relieves the itching and burning of athlete’s foot
- One tube treats both feet
Lamisil Once is a unique anti-fungal product that requires just one application to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis interdigitalis). It is convenient and has the shortest treatment time of any tinea treatment product available.
One application forms a colourless film that keeps releasing terbinafine for several days — so a single dose does the work, with no need to reapply.
The film allows the active ingredient to continuously fight the fungal infection over an extended period of days, without needing to apply additional product.
All other anti-fungal treatments require a longer treatment time, ranging from 7 days to 28 days, and many also require three applications per day to effectively eliminate athlete’s foot (tinea between the toes). Lamisil Once, however, needs to be applied just once.
Directions for use:
Adults aged 18 years and over:
- Best applied after a shower or bath. Wash and dry both feet, then wash and dry your hands.
- Apply to both feet — even if only one looks affected — using about half the tube per foot.
- Spread evenly between, under and over all the toes, then over the sole and sides. Don’t rub or massage in.
- Leave to dry to a film for 1–2 minutes before putting on footwear. Don’t wash or splash your feet for 24 hours afterwards.
- Apply once only — do not reapply. For external use on feet and toes only; keep away from naked flames (it contains alcohol).
- If there’s no improvement within two weeks, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
Who shouldn’t use it
- Anyone allergic to terbinafine or any ingredient in the solution
- Children and adolescents under 18
- Anyone with a long-standing infection of the soles or heels with thickened or flaky skin — see your doctor, as a different treatment may be needed
- Not for use in pregnancy unless clearly necessary, or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises; keep treated areas away from infants
- For jock itch, use Lamisil AT 1% Cream instead — Lamisil Once treats athlete’s foot only
Possible side effects
Uncommonly (up to 1 in 100 people) you may notice application-site reactions — dry skin, irritation, a burning sensation, peeling, redness or skin-colour changes — usually mild and short-lived. Allergic reactions are very rare; if you get swelling, pain, itching, blistering, rash or hives, remove the film with denatured alcohol, wash and dry your feet, and speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
