Dosage:
Ibuprofen tablets should be taken with a drink of water, preferably after food. Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Recommended dosage Adults and adolescents (over 12 years):
The recommended dose is 1 tablet at first and then if necessary 1 tablet every four to six hours. Do not exceed 3 tablets in any 24 hour period. If in adolescents this medicinal product is required for more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen a doctor should be consulted.
Ibuprofen tablets are not suitable for children under 12 years.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.
If you have an infection, consult a doctor without delay if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen.
DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE.
If symptoms persist or there is no improvement in your condition contact your doctor.
If you forget to take Easofen Max Strength Tablets If you miss a dose, leave it out and take the next dose whenever it is due. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. After that, just carry on as before. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Safety information
Who should not use it?
Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs (including if they have ever triggered asthma, hives or a runny nose); if you have, or have had, a stomach ulcer, bleeding or perforation; if you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure; in the last three months of pregnancy; or if you take other NSAIDs or aspirin above 75mg a day.
Warnings & precautions
Take with or after food. NSAIDs carry a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke at high doses or with long use, so do not exceed the dose or duration. Ask your pharmacist first if you have asthma, high blood pressure, heart, kidney or liver problems, or take blood-pressure medicines, water tablets, anticoagulants, SSRIs, methotrexate or steroids. Stop and seek urgent help for signs of stomach bleeding (black stools, vomit like coffee grounds), a serious skin reaction or an allergic reaction.
Pregnancy & breastfeeding
Avoid in pregnancy, especially the last trimester; ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Possible side effects
Indigestion, heartburn, nausea or stomach pain. Less often, stomach ulcer or bleeding, allergic or skin reactions, fluid retention or raised blood pressure.
