Curanail 5% W/v Medicated Nail Lacquer

Description

Curanail nail lacquer is used to treat fungal infections affecting up to 2 nails and affecting the upper half or sides of the nail. Curanail nail lacquer can be used in both fingernails and toenails, it works to clear the fungal infections until the healthy nail has grown back.

The active substance in Curanail is amorolfine (as the hydrochloride) which belongs to a group of medicines known as antifungals. Amorolfine kills a wide variety of fungi that can cause nail infections.

A fungal nail infection is likely to result in discoloured (white, yellow or brown), thick or brittle nails, although their appearance can vary considerably.

The treatment of nail mycoses limited up to 2 nails in adults. Finger and toe nails.

It is important to continue using the nail lacquer until the infection has cleared and healthy nails have grown back. This usually takes 6 months for the finger nails and 9 months for toe nails. Treatment should be reviewed every three months. If there is no improvement after 3 months, you must consult your doctor.

How to use:

1. File down the infected area of nail
2. Clean using an alcohol swab
3. Apply the lacquer over the entire nail surface using the applicator and allow to dry.  This will take about 3 minutes
4. Repeat this process once weekly.  Treatment can take up to six months for finger nail infections while toe nail infection can require up to nine months
5. Do not use any nail varnish on affected nails for the duration of treatment
