Description
Gaviscon Peppermint Chewable Tablets bring relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and indigestion, which for example, can occur after meals or during pregnancy. This product belongs to a group of medicines called reflux suppressants, which form a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping from the stomach where it works into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort.
This medicine is used for the treatment of symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion (related to reflux), for example, following meals or during pregnancy, and in patients with symptoms related to oesophagitis.
They work in 2 ways: a combination of two antacids to neutralise excess stomach acid, and an alginate which forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents, keeping it away from the lining of the food pipe.
Adults and children over 12 years.
