Description

Nasacort Allergy Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid used to treat the nasal symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hayfever), including sneezing, itching and a stuffy or runny nose. It is scent-free and for adult use.

Key features

  • Relieves nasal allergy symptoms (sneezing, itching, congestion, runny nose)
  • Scent-free corticosteroid nasal spray
  • 55 micrograms per spray; around 30 sprays per bottle

How to use:

Adults ages 18 and over: 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Once symptoms improve use 1 spray in each nostril daily.

Children: Not for use in children under 18 years.

Relief may be obtained on the first day of use, but relief may take up to 4 days and it may take longer for maximum effect.

Do not use:

  • this product continuously for more than three months without consulting your doctor
  • if you are allergic to triamcinolone or any of the other ingredients

Consult your doctor:

  • before use if you are pregnant or breast feeding
  • before use if you have recently received steroid injections or taken steroid tablets
  • before use if you have a recent nose operation, injury or ulcer of your nose
  • if your symptoms have not improved after using the sprays for 14 days

Who should not use it:

Do not use if you are allergic to triamcinolone or any of the ingredients. It is not for treating a common cold.

Warnings & precautions:

Use with care if you have a nasal infection or sore, have had recent nasal surgery or injury, or have a history of glaucoma or cataracts. Tell your pharmacist if you use other steroid medicines. If there is no improvement after a week, stop and seek advice.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding:

Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use.

Possible side effects:

Nasal dryness or irritation, sore throat, nosebleeds, cough and headache. Rarely, effects on the nasal lining or eyes with long-term use, or an allergic reaction.
