Description

Nurofen Express Maximum Strength 400mg Tablets contain ibuprofen (as sodium ibuprofen dihydrate), which is absorbed quickly for fast relief of pain and fever. One 400mg tablet gives the full recommended dose in a single tablet. It is used for mild to moderate pain such as headache and migraine, dental and period pain, muscular, rheumatic and back pain and neuralgia, and for the symptoms of colds and flu.

  • Ibuprofen 400mg – the full dose in one tablet
  • Fast-absorbing sodium ibuprofen formula
  • Relieves pain and reduces fever
  • For adults and children aged 12 and over

The advanced sodium formulation absorbs up to twice as fast as standard ibuprofen, targeting the source of pain quicker for faster relief.

Dosage:

For oral use.

Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 1 tablet with water, up to 3 times a day if needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses, and do not exceed 3 tablets in 24 hours. Do not give to children under 12 years; use Nurofen for Children products for younger children.

If symptoms persist for more than 3 days or if new symptoms occur, stop treatment at once and consult your doctor.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs) or any of the ingredients; if you have ever had wheezing, asthma, a runny nose, rash or swelling after taking these medicines; if you have (or have had) a stomach ulcer, bleeding or perforation; if you are in the last three months of pregnancy; or if you are under 12 years of age.

Warnings & precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have heart, liver or kidney problems, high blood pressure, asthma, or a history of stomach problems, or if you take other medicines such as blood thinners, low-dose aspirin or other painkillers. Anti-inflammatory painkillers carry a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at high doses or with long-term use. Take with food to reduce stomach upset. Contains sodium and sucrose.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Avoid during pregnancy – it must not be used in the last three months, and should only be used earlier in pregnancy on medical advice. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are breastfeeding.

Possible side effects

The most common effects are stomach-related – indigestion, nausea or tummy ache. Stop use and seek help urgently if you have signs of stomach bleeding (black stools or vomiting blood), a serious allergic reaction (swelling, breathing difficulty) or a severe skin reaction.

Always read the label

This is a medicine. Always read the label and patient information leaflet before use. If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
