Description
Benylin Mucus Coughs Menthol Oral Solution is formulated to relieve chest congestion by loosening mucus, making it easier to cough up. Its active ingredient, guaifenesin, works deep in the lungs to thin phlegm, helping clear the airways and supporting easier breathing. Ideal for adults and children aged 12 and over, it provides fast-acting relief from mucus-related coughs.

Dosage:
For adults and children 12 years and over: Take 10ml up to 4 times daily using the supplied measuring cup. Do not exceed 4 doses (40ml) in 24 hours. Not suitable for children under 12 years. Contact a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 7 days. For oral use only.
Warnings & Precautions
- This product should not be used for persistent or chronic cough, such as occurs with asthma, or where cough is accompanied by excessive secretions, unless directed by a physician. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition.
- If cough persists for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache, a physician should be consulted.
- Caution should be exercised when using the product in the presence of severe renal or severe hepatic impairment.
- The concomitant use of cough suppressants is not recommended.
- Contains approximately 2 g of sucrose and 7 g of glucose in each 10 ml dose. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine. Sucrose and glucose may be harmful to the teeth.
- This medicine contains 393 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each 10 ml dose which is equivalent to 39.3 mg/ml. The amount in 10 ml of this medicine is equivalent to less than 10 ml beer or 4 ml wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects.
Pregnancy
- There are no or limited amount of data from the use of guaifenesin in pregnant women. Animal studies are insufficient with respect to reproductive toxicity.
- Benylin Mucus Cough with Honey & Lemon is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using contraception.
Breast-feeding
- Guaifenesin is excreted in breast milk in small amounts. There is insufficient information on the effects of guaifenesin in newborns/infants. A decision must be made whether to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue/abstain from Benylin Mucus Honey & Lemon Syrup therapy taking into account the benefit of breast feeding for the child and the benefit of therapy for the woman.
