Description

Panadol Extra contains specially formulated ingredients to provide additional pain relief. Panadol Extra is extra effective against pain, it does not irritate the stomach and is gentle on you. Suitable for: headache, migraine, backache, toothache, rheumatic pain, muscle pain, period pain. It is also effective in the treatment and relief of the fever and the aches and pains associated with colds and flu.

Panadol Extra combines paracetamol with caffeine for stronger relief of pain such as headache, migraine, period pain, dental pain, muscular and rheumatic pain, and the aches of cold and flu. The caffeine boosts the pain-relieving effect of the paracetamol.

Dosage:

For oral use: Swallow tablets with water.

Adults and children aged 16 years and over: Take 2 tablets every 4 hours as required. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Children aged 12-15 years: Take 1 tablets every 4 hours as required. Not suitable for children under 12 years.

Who should not use it

Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine or any ingredient, if you have taken another paracetamol-containing medicine in the last 4 hours, or in children under 12. Ask your pharmacist first if you have liver or kidney problems or regularly drink alcohol.

Warnings & precautions

Contains paracetamol – do not take with any other paracetamol-containing product, and do not exceed the dose, as too much can cause serious liver damage. Contains caffeine – avoid taking with other caffeine sources (tea, coffee, energy drinks), as too much may cause restlessness or difficulty sleeping. If you take too much, get medical advice at once even if you feel well.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Paracetamol can usually be used, but a high caffeine intake is not advised – ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Possible side effects

Side effects are uncommon at the recommended dose; rarely, allergic reactions. The caffeine may cause restlessness or difficulty sleeping.
