Description

Nurofen for Children is a specially formulated oral suspension for babies and children from 3 months designed to relieve pain and reduce fever. The active ingredient (which makes this medicine work) is ibuprofen which is a non-steroidal-antiinflammatory (NSAID) painkiller.

Dosage:

Shake the bottle well before measuring the dose. Using the syringe inside to measure the dose accurately. A measuring spoon is provided to ensure accuracy. Double-ended measuring spoon (with a 2.5ml bowl, with 1.25ml inner mark at one end and a 5ml bowl at the other end.

The daily dosage of Nurofen for Children 100mg/5ml Oral Suspension is 20 to 30 mg of ibuprofen/kg bodyweight in divided doses.

• 3 to 6 months (weighing over 5 kg) : 2.5ml, 3 times a day in 24 hours
• 6 to 12 months (7.7 – 9 kg): 2.5ml, 3 times a day in 24 hours
• 1 to 3 years (10 – 16 kg): 5 ml, 3 times a day in 24 hours
• 4 to 6 years (17 – 20 kg): 7.5 ml (5ml & 2.5ml) 3 times a day in 24 hours
• 7 to 9 years (21 – 30 kg): 10 ml, (two 5ml spoonfuls) 3 times a day in 24 hours
• 10 to 12 years (31 – 40 kg): 15 ml (three 5ml spoonfuls) 3 times a day in 24 hours

For infants aged 3-5 months medical advice should be sought if symptoms worsen or not later than 24 hours id symptoms persist. if in children aged 6 months and over and in adolescents this medicinal product is required for more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen a doctor should be consulted.

Do not dose more frequently than at 6 hourly intervals.

Cautions:

• Not suitable for children under 3 months of age unless advised by your doctor.
• This product should only be given to infants aged 3-6 months who weigh more than 5kg.
• For infants aged 3 – 5 months medical advice should be sought if symptoms worsen or not later than 24 hours if symptoms persist.
• If in children aged from 6 month and in adolescents this medicinal product is required for more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen a doctor should be consulted.
• For oral administration.
• For short term use only.

• is allergic to aspirin
• is receiving any other pain relievers
• is receiving any other regular treatment
